Passive Downwind Tracking
Passive downwind systems have fewer moving parts and do not require electronic sensors and controls. This keeps the design simple, keeps the installed price per watt and maintenance costs lower than upwind systems.
TECWIND Turbines incorporate new tracking technology similar to an autopilot on a yacht that will always point the blades in the direction of the wind maximizing the power extracted from the wind.
Variable Pitch Speed Control Large wind turbines control rotor speed by changing the pitch of the blade. The new TECWIND 5.6 uses pitch control to keep the blades rotating at 220 rpm. This will be maintained up to 55 mph where it will continue to capture maximum power before shutting down at that top speed.
Low Cost of Energy
The installed cost per watt output is less than most other wind systems. The TECWIND 5.6 has enough power for a family of 4 or a small business.
